Art and crafting has been a therapeutic tool I acquired in early childhood. Like many budding artists, I, too, felt that focusing on art was not a "realistic" way to build an adult life. Through my years of spiritual readings, intuitive development and finally, the darkness that came during the COVID years, I realized that art is the ultimate healing tool and it is important that each of us find our inner artist and allow for our own soulful creation.
As I continue to reclaim my inner creator, I have often been inspired to craft custom-made items my spiritual craftwork. When I first went looking for a Book of Shadows to keep my spiritual rituals documented within, I found that most Book of Shadows were made from leather and I was clear I did not want to use animal products in this way.
After failing to find a vegan Book of Shadows, I had an inspiration to make my own out of naturally-shed birch bark found in my neighboring woods. I continue to make pieces that feel authentic, functional and intentional to my spirituality and personal expression.
I also feature the amazing wood work of Dave Eyerman in this photo showcase, as we still join together to show our crafts at metaphysical craft fairs and events. Dave, along with his shamanic training, works with wood to sculpt and craft pieces that amplify the wisdom of the trees his pieces are made from.
