Therapy and Coaching

Everyone Deserves Support

I am licensed to practice clinical psychotherapy in the state of Massachusetts, yet I consider the work I do to fall under the term "therapeutic coaching."
Why?

I no longer treat clinical mental illness.
I no longer diagnosis or see your symptoms as "pathology."
I no longer work with health insurance.
I no longer keep clinical notes and documents.
With the amount of information readily available online, in book stores, and now with AI, you no longer need me to teach you the skills once only therapists knew.
What is needed now is genuine, heart-felt relational connection and reflection. Allow me to partner with you on your journey.

I work with folks like you who deserve to be truly seen, heard, witnessed and supported. I am looking forward to helping you build a life that is reflective of your heart and soul.
How is Coaching different than Therapy
Coaching provides support for people who want help but do not need a clinical level of care. Coaching offers more flexibility, freedom, and creativity than traditional therapy.

Traditional Therapy:

-
Requires a diagnosis in order to focus on alleviating your symptoms
-
Establishes a clinical treatment plan
-
Works with a goal-driven mindset
-
Leans on Evidence-Based treatment approaches
-
Tracks symptoms and documents progress
-
Focuses on skill-building and education about mental health
-
Can feel formal, medical, and clinical
-
Ends when symptoms are alleviated

Coaching:

-
Takes the form it needs to for your needs
-
May include new and creative support strategies, suggestions, and offerings
-
Can lean on art, writing, spirituality, or intuition to support your journey
-
Can simply be a supportive relationship without striving for an outcome
-
Allows the coach and client to fully be their genuine soulful selves in relationship with each other
-
Can continue even when you are doing well
-
Helps you grow - personally, emotionally, relationally, creatively, and intuitively
-
Is forward-moving, focusing on the life you are building
-
Can address and resolve the past as a means to focus on building upon the wisdom and lessons you have learned

Is Coaching is right for you?
If you feel empowered to make your own life choices - but just aren't sure what your options are, than coaching may be right for you!

You may be a good fit for coaching if:

-
You have been to therapy, understand your mental health and traumas and how they informed your life, but now want to grow from there.
-
You self-reflect and come to session willing to share as openly.
-
Already have skills to manage your thoughts and feelings and an ability to self-soothe during struggled times that you would like to continue to enhance and develop.
-
You know that there is more for you to explore in this world but may need a supportive nudge to go for it.

Signs that you may benefit from coaching with me:

-
You are dissatisfied with your relationships and want to improve your relational dynamics
-
You are in "mid-life" and are re-evaluating the life you want moving forward
-
You did everything "right" by societal standards but still do not feel satisfied
-
You want to explore your spirituality, your intuition, your creativity, or overall satisfaction of life.
-
You want to focus on what you want rather than what you don't want.
-
You often find yourself caring for others because of your grounded perspective on life
-
You often feel that others can't or don't help you because they cannot think on the level you do
-
You often wish you had the gift of ignorance - just for one day - so you could have a moment without being plagued by all you see and understand
-
You are in a transitional state of your life such as:
-
Ending or wanting to end a marriage or significant relationship
-
Starting a new significant relationship or marriage
-
Wanting to do your next relationship differently than the last
-
Exploring non-traditional ways of living and loving
-
Ending or wanting to shift career path into something more resonant with you
-
Stepping into an "empty nest" and what it means to "parent" young adult children and your changing identity
-
Am I the right Coach for you?
While I may have removed myself from the traditional mental health system, the years of experience I have from working in social service agencies and mental health clinics will always stay with me.
I have the skills, knowledge, and judgment of a clinical psychotherapist but lean into working with the flexibility, creativity, and non-clinical aspects of being a coach.
While my vocational background created a foundation of understanding human behavior- it was not until I started to explore spirituality, creativity, intuition, and art that I truly saw the fuller picture of being alive.

Your life is meant for you to courageously explore, expand, and to find your most authentic life and I would be delighted to help you find this for yourself.

I am a good match for you if you enjoy a Coach who:
-
Participates - I offer feedback and as many reflections in each session that I can
-
Uses intuition to dig deep - my goal is to get to the core, the foundation, the heart and soul of you so that you can build your authentic life from there. I will work intuitively with you to peel back the layers to hear your deepest truths.
-
Uses humor, creativity, and a non-denominational spiritual approach
-
Works collaboratively with you - not as an authority over you. I encourage you to take our conversations and make them work for you. You are always empowered to tell me what works for you and what doesn't. I value your voice, your opinion, and your self-knowledge above all else.
